Active Internships at Doberman
We’re now accepting applications for our 2025 internship program.
Doberman Emergency Management is hiring interns to support real-world projects across emergency services, public safety, and strategic outreach. These are paid, hybrid roles based in the St. Louis region, with the opportunity to work directly with our leadership team on national and international initiatives.
We’re currently recruiting for three key roles:
Emergency Management Intern – supporting planning, training, assessments, and operations
Media & Marketing Intern – executing social media, email campaigns, and digital content
Strategic Outreach & Research Intern – conducting B2B research, outreach, and proposal development
Each internship is built for professionals-in-progress who want to contribute meaningfully to the field. Whether you're organizing stakeholder meetings, shaping national training content, or preparing strategic outreach materials, you'll be part of the team doing the real work.

You’ll also be contributing to The Readiness Lab (TRL), the public-facing arm of our work. From elite-level content to national conversations, TRL sets the tone for what’s next.

What to Expect as an Intern
Interns at Doberman are expected to operate with initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to grow. You’ll be pointed in a direction and expected to lead the rest of the way. We want individuals who are intelligent, highly skilled (or on the path), coachable, and ready to contribute. You’ll be working on meaningful assignments, learning how to deliver at a high level, and gaining experience that translates directly into future roles—here or anywhere else in the industry.
You’ll be embedded in a high-trust environment that values clarity, action, and personal accountability. You will be expected to care deeply about your work, the people it impacts, and your own growth.
Your Role Will Include
Contributing to core project work based on your track (planning, media, research)
Supporting administrative functions that keep operations running
Attending client meetings, trainings, and stakeholder sessions
Traveling for work on occasion, depending on the project
Working out of our St. Charles, Missouri office, with a flexible hybrid model
Collaborating with a national team working across multiple time zones and high-level deliverables
You’ll be trained, mentored, and held to a high standard. We’ll show you what excellence looks like—and how to reach it. You’ll receive clear feedback, real responsibilities, and exposure to client-facing work that matters.
Interns who succeed at Doberman are offered jobs at the end of the program.
